About the Role
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly skilled Electro-Optical Systems Engineer and Data Analyst to support the research and development of cutting-edge avionics capabilities for the U.S. Air Force.
This role involves providing modeling and simulation support, data analysis, and technical advisement to enhance the effectiveness of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) technologies within the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt software to address customer challenges in a professional environment.
The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative government and contractor team, working closely with program managers, lead project engineers, and program teams to develop and demonstrate innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide modeling and simulation support for Electro-Optical (EO) and Infrared (IR) cutting-edge technologies
• Use data analysis and/or software tools to generate scientific results to support R&D programmatic decisions
• Analyze end user requirements and provide recommendations based on scientific results and developmental risks
• Evaluate proposed projects for feasibility and applicability to relevant military mission areas
Requirements
• Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• 8-10 years' experience with M&S and data analysis, MATLAB, and Python, image and signal processing
• Strong EO/IR data analysis and performance modeling computing skills
• Proficient knowledge of software development and/or software maintenance
• Experience working with U.S. Air Force customers
