Responsibilities

This individual will provide support by developing software in support of Large Force Exercises (LFEs). You will work with a team of operations experts and developers to create a tailored, modern, and impactful mission debrief by developing and integrating new and existing tools. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.

As a Senior Full-Stack Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, integrating and maintaining scalable, high-performance applications. You will be responsible for leading the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system architecture design to coding, testing, and deployment. Your expertise will span both front-end and back-end technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing tools and providing exceptional user experiences. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will mentor junior developers, review code for quality assurance, and implement best practices in software development. Additionally, you will stay ahead of industry trends to recommend and adopt new tools and technologies that enhance efficiency and drive innovation. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Expectations include :

Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff

Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently

Oversee efforts of less senior staff and responsible for efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job

Strong understanding of software development management, including experience using project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or Asana), version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab), and code repositories to ensure seamless collaboration, progress tracking, and delivery of high-quality software solutions to the Government

Communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracyoral and written

Candidate tasks may include :

Write, test, and optimize both front-end and back-end code to implement new features or improve existing functionality

Review pull requests from team members to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Work with designers, product managers, and other developers to refine user requirements

Design scalable and maintainable system architectures, and plan for technical dependencies and integrations with third-party systems or APIs

Investigate, diagnose, and resolve bugs and technical issues across the stack

Refactor legacy code to improve readability and maintainability, and apply updates and patches to ensure software security and compliance

Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers, share knowledge and best practices during team meetings or code review sessions

Research and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and technologies, and propose innovative solutions to improve development processes or enhance the user experience

Qualifications

Required Skills :

A minimum of 8 years experience leading complex software development and deployment activities, with experience in classified environments highly desired

Extensive experience in programming languages Python and / or C

Demonstrated expertise in RESTful and GraphQL API design and integration, as well as experience building new tools that interact with various APIs

Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and core concepts, with experience deploying and managing containerized applications in a Kubernetes environment

Familiarity with databases and database languages (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.) and interacting with large datasets

Desired Skills :

Experience with Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, SIMP Project, Ansible, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, AWS Cloud & Nifi

Familiarity with Agile software development, agile methodologies, agile project management, software project management

Education Requirements :

Masters degree required.

Experience may be substituted in lieu of education requirement.

Travel Requirements :

Routine travel is expected. Candidates should anticipate one week per month. Non-traditional work hours may be required. Expectation is that work will be performed onsite. Occasional telework options may be available with approval from mission partner.

Clearance Requirements :

Current Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain access to Special Access Required (SAR) Programs and Special Technical Operations (STO) required.

U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
