Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with extensive experience in systems engineering for large-scale enterprise software and hardware engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both commercial and government (IC or DoD) environments, with a proven track record of designing and deploying complex solutions for operational missions.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 15 years of progressive systems engineering experience for large scale enterprise software and hardware engineering projects.
• Minimum 5 years of IC or DoD experience designing and deploying large scale enterprise software and hardware solutions for operational missions.
• Minimum 1 years of SAP experience working across complex mission partners and classified programs.
• Experience with Agile methodology and process at scale, modern commercial industry enterprise software engineering mindsets (DevSecOps, SRE, vertical slice, etc), best practices and patterns for successful continuous integration, test, delivery and deployment at scale.
• Effective communication with leadership, stakeholders, and development/industry communities
• Knowledgeable with respect to IC, DoD, Air Force, Space Force or SSC processes and procedures for delivering systems to production environments
• Familiarity with highly available, scalable cloud native (IaaS and PaaS) solutions within commercial industry
• Familiarity with highly scalable data as a service (DaaS) solutions within commercial industry

Desired:

• Highly Desired: past or present experience with SSC or mission partner space control or space situational awareness mission area programs

Education Requirements:  

• BS/BA along with a minimum 15 years of relevant experience
• or Master’s degree along with a minimum 12 years of relevant experience
• or PhD along with a minimum 9 years of relevant experience

Clearance Requirements:

• Active Top Secret, SCI eligible.
• Eligibility for access to SAP Information.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Location/Travel Requirements:

• Place of work is El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, CO
• May require travel up to 10% of time within the continental United States.

The pay range for this position is $170,000/year to $240,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract wages, job- related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
