Your Role
You will be part of a dynamic team that works on simulation event planning and execution, supporting operations at Edwards AFB, California. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work with complex systems like NGTS and DIADS.
Responsibilities
* Participate in simulation event planning process
* Read and understand customer requirements documents (test plans, training plans, etc.)
* Translate customer requirements into requirements for simulation scenarios
* Assist in writing test/training support plans and other execution materials
* Participate with simulation scenario development
* Become an expert on one or more systems that support simulation execution (NGTS, DIADS, etc.)
* Program simulation area, entities, and environmental conditions to create new simulation scenarios to meet customer requirements
* Modify existing simulation scenarios when appropriate to meet customer requirements
* Participate in simulation event readiness reviews
* Present support documentation and scenario development status
* Receive and execute feedback from review participants
Control Room Operation
* Gain and maintain control room qualifications based on organizational standards
* Participate in simulation event briefings as required by simulation event leaders
* Execute simulation start procedures
* Perform real-time simulation equipment/software troubleshooting to correct issues as they arise during simulation events
* Attend and participate in simulation event debrief sessions
* Execute data analysis and development of reporting products for customers
* Create data requests per organization standards. Deliver these data requests to data management personnel
* Process, condition, or analyze raw simulation data per test/training support plans and/or associated data analysis plans
* Assist with data packaging and delivery to customers per test/training support plans or associated data analysis plans
Requirements
* 8 years' experience in an engineering discipline
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
* 5 years' experience in flight test (operations engineer, test conductor/director, or discipline engineer)
* Experience using Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) or Digital Integrated Air Defense System (DIADS) simulator software.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
