Responsibilities
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Systems Administrator (Junior) to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Defenseive Cyber Operations rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
Supports, designs, maintains and monitors internal and external networks. Implements and manages all systems, applications, security and network configurations. Resolves network performance issues and establishes a disaster recovery plan. Recommends upgrades, patches and new applications and equipment. Provides technical support and guidance to users. Relies on knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals. Usually reports to a supervisor or department head. This position will require priviledge access and DODM 8570.01M restrictions will apply.
Qualifications
Required skills:
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, and as needed RHEL operating systems administration and associated hardware
- Experience in effective communication and collaborating in a high performance team environment.
- Group Policy design and configuration
- Working knowledge of CISCO network and switching and virtualization technologies
- Working knowledge of virtualization as it applies to users environments, operating systems, and network appliances
- Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and data backup technologies
- Working knowledge communication security (COMSEC) policies and integration
- Working knowledge and current relevant experience with IL4 and above network environments/systems
- Must be familiar with DoD policy as it applies to implementing and executing system and network administration
- Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework and how to apply it to network/information system environments
- Working knowledge in the following programming languages:
- Bash scripting, Python
Desired skills/experience:
- Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
- Experience with Defensive Cyber Operations (SSC/SZWO) program office
Education/Certification
Minimum Requirements:
- 6 years relevant professional experience or training
- Or Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty
- Must have CCNA, Security , CCDE, or DoD 8140 Basic Proficiency
Clearance:
- Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance. A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is HIGHLY desired.
Location/Travel Requirements:
- Place of work is Colorado Springs, remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $100,000/year to $125,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Salary : $10,000 - $125,000
