The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility equipment and systems within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role supports the maintenance team in ensuring equipment reliability, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and minimal downtime for production operations.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Perform scheduled and on demand maintenance to support process equipment and systems, in accordance with established procedures and/or approved practices. Support efforts in developing remediation for follow-up and emergency work.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs, potential issues, and develop preventive maintenance plans.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems with facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure, and provide technical expertise to resolve issues.
  • Oversee and perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to update maintenance procedures and protocols to optimize the performance and lifespan of facility systems.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED required; Technical Certification or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of related experience

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Military training equivalent of above is acceptable.
  • Previous experience in a cGMP environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with documentation practices used in a GMP environment is preferred
  • Experience documenting work in a CMMS (MAXIMO) preferable
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to team members and stakeholders.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
  • In-depth knowledge of various facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.

  • This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work.
