Job Summary:
We are seeking a Warehouse Worker / CDL Driver to join our team at our steel distribution center. In this role, you will play an integral part in handling, organizing, and preparing steel products for distribution, while ensuring a clean and safe warehouse environment. This position requires both warehouse and driving responsibilities, making it ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
Pay: $18 - $23/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport steel products, handling materials both manually and with equipment.
- Warehouse Operations: Organize and store materials properly while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area.
- Truck Loading & Driving: Safely load truck beds with steel products, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- CDL Driving: Operate a flatbed truck for deliveries when needed (Class A CDL preferred). We are open to Class B and C licenses as well.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner during pickups and deliveries.
- Outdoor Work Environment: Work in an open-air warehouse, exposed to varying weather conditions.
- Construction & Heavy Material Knowledge: Utilize experience in manual labor and construction to understand steel weight capacities and proper handling techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or steel distribution environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to [specify weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs]).
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy machinery (certifications are a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and measurement skills for reading and interpreting orders.
