Basic Functions and Scope of Job:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality standards, inspecting and documenting new part qualification, in-process production, finished product, and incoming parts and materials. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor and/or machine operators
• Inspect final products before shipment, including electrical testing 
• Monitor in-process manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to quality techniques, practices and procedures
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database  
• Working with Engineering to qualify and verify new parts or assemblies
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
• Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements
• Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials   
• Document Non-conformances, recommend actions and help work towards solutions
• Monitor, measure, and review internal Quality processes
• Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices
• Maintain knowledge of standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

This role is pivotal in coordinating the company's quality inspection of our products. The individual in this position must have a high degree of integrity, resourcefulness, and professionalism in working with colleagues, clients, and vendors. Relationship building, internal customer service, and the ability to follow up in a timely manner are critical for success. The ideal candidate will have relative experience, excellent communication and time management skills, and manufacturing aptitude. To be successful in this role, a qualified applicant should possess the following attributes:  

• Minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year of related experience; combination of education and experience can be considered; electrical testing experience a plus 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Skilled with general inspection equipment (Calipers, depth gage, tape measure, etc.)
• Blueprint reading skills are a must
• Welding and metal fabrication experience is a plus
• Welding inspection experience is a plus
• ISO 9001:2015 experience preferred
• Ability to travel highly desired
