Location- Position location considered an onsite hybrid/office setting.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Abide by all Modular Genius, Inc. policies as found in the “Modular Genius, Inc. Employee Handbook”
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual Sales Tax calculations and supporting documents for submission.
- Submit required documentation for sales tax refunds or adjustments, as applicable.
- Prepare annual State or Local Jurisdiction business Personal Property Tax (PPT) forms.
- Review PPT invoices for accuracy and resolve errors or corrections with the municipality’s personnel.
- Prepare forms and review invoices for various other excise or municipality taxes.
- Research various tax requirements for projects, as needed.
- Prepare supporting schedules for annual income tax filings
- Submit and maintain record of income tax payments and other submissions.
- Work with Assistant Controller to record all tax payment transactions into general ledger.
- Maintain book and tax depreciation schedules for company fixed assets.
- Assist with updating fleet inventory schedules.
- Assist with tracking and processing Manufacturers Statements of Origin.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associates Degree in Accounting or Business Management a plus.
- 2 - 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a private entity setting.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Multi-tasker with an excellent focus on accuracy.
- Proofreading skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to conduct research on tax requirements.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
- Must be self-motivated and maintain confidentiality.
- Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
