DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT (20%)
- Coach, mentor and develop team members
- Partner with the Receiving Supervisor to manage team workload/headcount to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness and meet business need
- Review team reporting, ensuring all members are aware of and meeting department metrics and KPIs
- Support in ensuring all Receiving SOP’s are documented and develop net new SOP’s according to business need
- Partner with Receiving Supervisor to ensure all team members have required training for Safety and Job Function
- Partner with Receiving Supervisor to ensure proper onboarding and training for all new hires
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, organized and productive work environment
DAY TO DAY (80%)
- Plan and execute daily Receiving tasks for current day and week
- Work with your team and Supervisors/Leads across the warehouse to ensure all daily responsibilities are attended to in a customer service-oriented and productive fashion
- Support in leading the Receiving team in executing against required daily deliverables (workflow prioritization, order processing, dashboard updates, ticket and escalation management)
- Support the team in executing any other required tasks or duties for warehouse operations, as required
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-2 years of Lead experience within a warehouse environment
- Experience with all Shipping operations within the warehouse
- Experience across all areas of areas of warehouse operations an asset
- Experience with UPS, Fedex, Couriers, LTL and container shipping
- Proficiency in RF Scan, MS Word, Excel and Outlook an asset
- Experience working with WMS system(s) an asset
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written)
- A self-starter who takes initiative and sets good example for the warehouse staff
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed
- Must have a driver’s license
- Physically able to lift heavy shipments and products between 50 to 70 lbs
- Flexibility with working hours
Salary range for this role is $24-28/hr
