Summary
Moeller Aerospace is a world class manufacturing company looking to add a key member to the IT department in Harbor Springs Michigan. The role of IT Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of IT related duties to support the infrastructure and the valued people that work to make Moeller great. The position will work alongside other IT team members to provide excellent customer service and outstanding IT operations for the business. The individual we are seeking is motivated, confident, and ready to make a positive contribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports network operations by interacting with users, analyzing the shop workflow, and understanding business requirements
- Provides expert technical support for end users, servers, and software applications
- Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor if necessary
- Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks; participating in professional organizations
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential and secure
- Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Provide technical assistance of a multi-site enterprise level WAN, including planning, implementation/expansion, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts
- Deploy and administer the wireless infrastructure and supporting systems
- Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment
- Work with other IT members on new hardware or software deployments
- Research and recommend approaches for system administration tasks
- Analyze and monitor server security and implement patches/fixes to address potential security holes
- Provide hardware and operating system support for the corporate and field computer systems environment, UNIX, Linux, Windows, and storage.
- Work with system administrator to ensure disaster recovery and business continuity is reliable and functioning as designed

Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT help desk support specialist or equivalent background
- Familiarity with network administration
- Experience in supporting network infrastructure and providing end user support
- Knowledge of desktop systems and related software
- Ability to provide technical assistance on the delivery, configuration, set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, hardware, and software
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Solid communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience in a Manufacturing work environment preferred
- Familiar with ERP application and implementation a plus
- Network Certifications a plus

- Experience with relational database systems, object-oriented programming, web application development, and search engine optimization
- Experience with programming in VB
- Windows Server (various versions)
- HP, Dell, FortiGate Technologies
- NAS / SANS / Mass Storage
- VMWare / VEEAM

Education and/or Experience
College/university graduate with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination desired.
