Assistant Manager
Job Description
Works in collaboration with restaurant leadership to plan, organize, train, and lead the Front of House team in achieving objectives in sales, cost control, employee retention, guest satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation all FOH operations.
- Serves as a positive example by providing exceptional customer care
- Administer daily restaurant functions including opening and closing responsibilities, bank drops, change orders, petty cash handling, tips tracking, staff performance/attendance records
- Train staff on product knowledge, customer service, sanitation, and food service procedures
- Develop seasonal cocktail lists and train FOH staff to prepare and describe them for guests
- Always ensure cleanliness of bar and restaurant
- Prepare all bar mixers, ingredients and garnishes weekly and daily
- Monitor reservations ensuring adequate staffing levels; respond to guest emails and phone in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with FOH hiring, reviews and disciplinary action
- Support the kitchen staff in executing quality products and customer service
- Contribute to weekly food and beverage/management meetings
- Assist with the communications and promotion of Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant
Essential Job Functions
- Works in collaboration with restaurant leadership to plan, in supervision/training of staff and food/bar service operations
- Provide presence on the floor to ensure quality customer care and exceptional beverage and food presentation
- Assist with the scheduling of front of house staff
- Assist with completing weekly and monthly inventories
- Assist with the oversight of FOH ordering, stock levels and costing
- Help monitor the FOH floor plan to ensure fair distribution of tables
- Promote a positive and productive work environment
- Provide formal and informal feedback to support staff development
- Share comments and concerns with leadership based on customer feedback
- Maintain working knowledge of the POS system and other company software needed for the restaurant
- Oversee daily operations of the bar
- Provide back up and support for any front of house position as needed

Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma - Post secondary degree preferred
Previous restaurant supervisory experience required
Previous bartending experience required
