Description: Moffat County School District is looking for a motivated, caring, and enthusiastic person to fill an elementary English Language Learner(ELL) Teacher position at Ridgeview Elementary.
Job Summary: The ELL Teacher will provide specialized language instruction to our English Language Learners and collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure our English Language Learners develop English language proficiency and achieve academic success.
Education and/or Experience: Minimum requirement – Bachelor’s degree(B.A.) from an accredited four year college or university. Commitment to obtain a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) K-12 endorsement OR an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement OR an added endorsement/degree in English as Second Language
Licenses, Certificates: Minimum Requirements- Colorado Elementary Teaching License OR Colorado Secondary English Teaching License
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Screen Home Language Surveys
2. Administer the W-APT or WIDA Screener, interview parents/guardians, and collect a body of evidence to determine student eligibility for the ESL program in conjunction with the ELL Coordinator.
3. Actively participate with a team (classroom teacher, building principal, specialist(s), parent, and ELL Coordinator) in building a student’s English Language Acquisition Plan (ELAP)
4. Collaborate with classroom teachers and other district staff in order to design language services that are closely aligned to the district’s core curriculum goals and objectives.
5. Establishes and communicates clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units, and projects.
6. Provide support for English Language Learners, while creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interest, and abilities of students.
7. Administer the WIDA ACCESS annually.
8. Assesses and communicates the progress of students’ language development on a regular basis to parents, classroom teacher, and ELL team.
9. Maintains accurate and complete records.
10. Attend IEP, MTSS, CST, Section 504, parent/teacher conferences or other related meetings as needed.
11. Ability to coach and provide professional development opportunities.
12. Establishes partnerships with the community as appropriate in support of the ELL program.
13. Actively participate in end of the year evaluation meetings on student academic and language progress.
14. Actively participate in re-designation meetings.

Supervisory Responsibilities: The employee supervises students in the class, para professionals and volunteers.
