- Under the direction of the certified SLP support the provision of Speech Therapy services to students under the appropriate guidelines established by each individual IEP.
- Under direction of certified SLP and with the building team assist determining the need for screening/assessment and administer appropriate tests.
- Under the direction of the certified SLP assist other staff and parents in developing IEP.
- Assists in maintaining paperwork regarding students with IEPs, including diagnostic reports and measurable goals and objectives.
- Under direction of the certified SLP consult with teachers and parents to remediate student's needs as required.
- Strives to provides a fun, stimulating learning environment with challenging and developmentally appropriate activities which will enhance each student's communication skills.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship and rapport with co-workers, students, family members and other facility personnel.

Job Summary: Under the supervision of a certified speech-language pathologists(SLP) the SLPA assists with and supports the Speech Therapy services provided to students in a variety of settings. According to the American Speech Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) SLPAs should only be used to supplement, not replace, the services provided by the certified SLPs.
*Salary: $50,000 - $116,845 Certified salary is commensurate to education and experience.
Education and/or Experience: Minimum requirement – Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four year college or university.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Eligible or already in possession of a Colorado Special Service Provider License endorsed for Speech Language Pathology Assistant

When working with individual students or groups of students (or staff) a reasonably clean and distraction-free area is to be maintained in accordance with the building supervisor; and when possible, such space is to be reserved for testing or therapy on a reasonable schedule. It shall be the duty of the pathologist to maintain a travel schedule from one location to another, and to provide timely notices when published schedules need to change. Must be able to work within various degrees of noise and temperature.
