Our Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Construction Manager with waterfront project experience. We have an existing backlog of significant, high-profile projects in the local area and beyond!
You will be responsible for managing and implementing all phases of construction engineering for a broad range of marine infrastructure projects, including piers and repairs for the US Navy, large marine terminals, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, breakwaters, shore protection, and storm/flood resiliency structures and more. You will have 5 to 10 years of experience managing the construction process of waterfront projects.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Performs project management duties
- Coordinates with structural design staff along with other firm-wide disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets
- Develops contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specifications
- Manages projects ranging in size from <$1M to > $20M, actively communicate with the project team, and work to minimize project risks that may compromise safety, schedule, budget, or quality.
- Leads and coordinates construction and field meetings with the contractor and client
- Coordinates with multiple departments and agencies to ensure smooth project progression with minimal impact to operations and other stakeholders
- Collaborates with engineers to discuss and resolve field construction issues and propose practical solutions
- Leads the project team in monitoring construction and contractor operations for conformance with the contract, safety, schedule, quality control, proactive change management, pay applications, closeout, and facilitate record drawings in accordance with construction documents
- Works together with our local document and project controls specialist to track and maintain project information
- Assists with management and technical review of submittals and RFI’s
- Provides support to the engineering team during contractor prequalification or bid efforts, including constructability reviews, pre-bid meetings, contract procurement, etc.
- Schedules and coordinates project inspections
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a construction / project management role for complex projects
- Professional Engineer licensure in Florida is required or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire
- Experience working with ports, marine structural, DoD or NAVFAC design and construction projects is desired
- Experience effectively interacting with staff, vendors, clients and agencies
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing
- Availability to travel
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Eligibility to successfully pass background check to secure Department of Defense DBIDS card and other badges required by clients
- Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:
Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
