Summary
Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida seeks to recruit a Research Program Manager of the IACUC & IBC in the Comparative Medicine Core. This is a pivotal role that offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in animal care and use. This dynamic position involves:
• Building, leading and overseeing Moffitt's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
• Organizing and spearheading policy reviews and animal protocols.
• Addressing and resolving concerns and incidents.
• Creating and implementing innovative training programs for staff and committees.
Ideal Candidate
• Expert knowledge of laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies dealing with the humane care and use of animals in research and teaching, including the Federal Animal Welfare Act, the US Public Health Service Policy on the Humane Use of Laboratory Animals, as this relates to the use of animals in research.
• Experience with the principles of animal health, welfare, husbandry, research techniques, and management in a research facility.
Responsibilities:
As the Research Program Manager for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), you will play a key role in overseeing Moffitt's compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise and leadership will guide these committees in ensuring the highest quality of animal care and use.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree with three (3) years' relevant experience serving on or working for an IACUC with diverse species responsibilities.
• In lieu of Master's, will accept bachelor's degree with five (5) years' experience serving on or working for an IACUC with diverse species responsibilities.
• Must be a Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA®).
