Summary
Research Biomedical Engineer
The Research Biomedical Engineer designs and develops biomedical engineering products. The position is a non-tenure track researcher who serves as part of an engineering research team under the general direction of an Investigator in one of the Basic Science Research Departments in the MRI.
The Ideal Candidate:
- PhD degree in Bioengineering, materials science and engineering or related field preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts science, technology, and research and development experiments in human-machine interface technologies.
- Develops computational/theoretical models of neural (signal) processing and analysis techniques.
- Performs statistical modeling studies for select research projects.
- Interprets data for patent disclosures, prepares reports and presents analyses to leadership for review.
- Maintains computer software and servers.
- Uses the principles of biochemistry to design and develop a diverse range of biological products or processes.
- The role will be responsible for drafting manuscripts, related support activities for the Principal Investigator (PI), and presentations and will be expected to have a percentage of time spent on training and mentoring lab staff.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering, biomedical engineering, chemistry, physics or relevant field plus 2 years of relevant experience is required.
