Summary

The Assistant Member will be certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Pathology with certificates of special qualification in hematology and / or medical oncology. This oncologist specializes in bone marrow transplant or stem cell transplant for the treatment of individuals whose bone marrow or stem cells have been damaged by disease or treatment. For medical oncology, this internist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer and other benign and malignant tumors, deciding on and administering chemotherapy for malignancy while consulting with surgeons and radiotherapists on other treatments for cancer. The Assistant Member practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center.

As a Member of the Moffitt Medical Group, the Assistant Member provides patient care and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise, spanning the clinical and research enterprise in support of patient care, research, and education, advancing the Institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.
