MOGAS Industries, Inc., the leading manufacturer of severe service ball valves for extreme industrial applications is seeking a qualified Welder II for our North Houston location. The Welder II will Successfully perform all manual welding, operates vacuum furnace, and prepares materials for coating operations. Responsible for maintaining and generating job processing documentation by valve serial number/job number.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three (3) to seven (7) plus years related experience
- Certifications in manual Mig and Tig Welding a must
Responsibilities and Essential Requirements:
- Performs welding and part preparation per WPS, Blueprint and Job Router
- Successfully completes welding qualifications per Mogas WPS’s.
- Operates manual welding equipment.
- Apply welds per WPS specifications, drawing, BOM and Job Router
- Perform quality checks and report issues to lead and/or supervisor
- Ensures documentation is accurately entered and verified prior to closing job.
- Verify that router and blueprint revision match.
- Verify materials to ensure proper identification of WPS.
- Verify / check all heat numbers on physical material and router to ensure match.
- Completes C of C to include welding wire / heat number, WPS, and material designation.
- Responsible for maintaining all quality testing and stress relieving according to specification.
- Set-up and operate Vacuum Furnace.
- Set-up and operate localized PWHT equipment.
- Set-up and operate Box furnace.
- Set-up, trouble-shoot and perform minor equipment repairs as needed.
- Cross trains in multiple areas such as preparation technician, blast technician and able to operate manual machines, etc.
- Mask, blast and prepare components for coating.
- Measures and record blast profile and times
- Ability to run manual lathe.
