Job Purpose
We are seeking a **Controls Engineer** to lead complex control system projects, provide technical support for equipment issues, and mentor a team of control technicians. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems, ensuring high operational efficiency, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. The Controls Engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and oversee automation projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and support control system projects, ensuring seamless integration and operation of production equipment.
- Collaborate with internal teams, OEMs, and vendors to design, install, and troubleshoot control systems, including **PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, and data acquisition software**.
- Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting and modify **DCS, PLC, HMI, and servo controller logic** to optimize machine and system performance.
- Supervise and mentor control technicians, assign tasks, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Oversee machine installations, upgrades, and process improvements by interfacing **auxiliary equipment, debugging programming and wiring**, and ensuring vendor compliance.
- Maintain and improve **data collection systems** by integrating production and lab equipment into the plant network.
- Ensure compliance with **OSHA regulations**, company safety policies, and National Electrical Code standards, while identifying and mitigating electrical hazards.
- Develop and implement safety procedures, including **lockout/tagout protocols** for maintenance and operations teams.
- Provide training for engineers, technicians, and production personnel on control systems and new technologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards to improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, and forecasting for control system upgrades and enhancements.
- Bachelor’s degree** in **Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science**, or a related field.
- 1 years of industrial controls experience** with strong electrical theory knowledge.
- Proficiency in **PLC programming, HMI development, servo control, and automation software**.
- Experience with **AutoCAD** for creating and modifying schematic drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for **electrical, mechanical, and process control systems**.
- Ability to work with **machine manufacturers and vendors** to design and optimize equipment.
- Knowledge of **networking protocols and integration** of control systems into plant networks.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to mentor technicians and collaborate across teams.
- Familiarity with **safety regulations, OSHA standards, and lockout/tagout procedures**.
- Experience with **data collection, analysis, and historian systems** to improve machine efficiency.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
