The ideal candidate will have expertise in machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting, with the ability to work independently and ensure precision machining. This role involves working with large parts in a high-precision manufacturing environment, particularly within the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities
- CNC Machine Setup & Operation: Configure and operate CNC machining centers for efficient production.
- Troubleshooting & Adjustments: Diagnose and resolve issues related to controllers, machines, and processes.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering blueprints to select appropriate tools, set feeds, and determine speeds.
- Quality Inspection: Use precision hand tools to inspect machined parts and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Workplace Maintenance: Keep tools, equipment, and workstations organized and in optimal condition.
- Tool Management: Monitor tool usage and reorder supplies as needed.
- Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in CNC 5-axis milling setup and operations.
- 3 years of experience in setting up and running CNC machining centers.
- Experience machining large parts (preferably in the aerospace industry).
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, select tools, and set feeds/speeds.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Work Ethic & Independence:
- Can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Stable work history (at least 4 years of tenure at each company; no job hoppers or contractors).
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
