Job Purpose -
The Travel CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) and diagnostic radiography procedures to support accurate patient diagnoses. Working within a hospital or imaging center setting, this position ensures the comfort, safety, and care of patients while adhering to radiologic safety standards and protocols.
Roles And Responsibilities -
- Review physician orders and requisitions to confirm the correct procedures and prepare necessary prior imaging for radiologist evaluation.
- Educate and prepare patients for scans; assist with positioning and immobilization as needed for image clarity and safety.
- Operate CT equipment, set appropriate exposure levels, and ensure imaging quality aligns with clinical standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of imaging workspace, equipment, and necessary supplies.
- Perform venous punctures for contrast administration, monitor for any patient reactions or complications, and report promptly.
- Communicate critical findings or urgent results to physicians and explain results to patients if requested.
- Stay current with advancements in radiology through continuing education and professional development.
- Support training for radiology students and new technologists as needed.
- Follow departmental policies, including radiation safety protocols (e.g., proper use of lead aprons, shielding).
- Remain flexible to take on weekend call coverage once a month.
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology (CT certified preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience as a CT Technologist.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and contrast administration procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
- Commitment to patient care, safety, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Willingness to travel and work a 13-week contract in Elkader, IA.
- Availability for a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM schedule and one on-call weekend per month.
