Job Purpose -

The Patient Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring a culture of safety within the healthcare organization by identifying risks, analyzing safety incidents, and implementing strategies to improve patient safety outcomes. This role emphasizes compliance with safety standards and the promotion of best practices to minimize risks and enhance care quality.

Roles And Responsibilities -

  • Oversee patient safety initiatives and ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols.
  • Analyze safety incidents, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and execute strategies to foster a culture of safety across the organization.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to design and implement patient safety programs.
  • Provide education and training on safety practices and risk management strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives and recommend improvements.
  • Serve as a resource for patient safety-related inquiries and best practices.

Must-Have Qualifications -

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification at the time of hire.
  • At least 2 years of experience in patient safety roles.
  • 5-7 years of total professional experience in healthcare or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address safety concerns.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
