Job Summary:
A Ramp Service Agent performs a variety of duties related to providing contracted ground handling services to commercial aircraft, flight crew, and passengers. Responsible for providing check-in and gate services to various airlines. This position is a full time, forty (40) hours per week split shift position, and requires the applicant to adapt to a high tempo operation that requires attention to detail in a federally regulated environment. Ramp Service Agents will be required to maintain currency in ground handling services for various aircraft and airline carriers. The Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport is a commercial service airport and serves the Tri-State area. The airport processes more than 130,000 charter passengers per year and receives more than $3M in grant funding from ADOT and the FAA annually. The airport is owned and operated by the Mohave County Airport Authority and provides its new employees with an entry into the Airport Operations industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for loading and unloading of baggage, freight and cargo
- Greet, park, tow, move and marshal aircraft arriving or departing ramp area
- Provide lavatory and water service as requested
- Provide shuttle/ wheelchair service for passengers and crew as requested
- Assist with customer service duties
- Assist Passengers and crew with baggage and cargo
- Assist with general cleaning of debris from ramps, building, aircraft and customer areas
- Assist with wing- walking duties
- Chock aircraft
- Connect electrical power unit to aircraft
- Position passenger stairs/Jetway to aircraft
- Replenish water supply and service lavatories
- Connect tow bar and tug for push back or towing aircraft
- Provide air-start and air-conditioning
- Operate headset radio to communicate with ground crew, flight crew and employees
- Assist with baggage check-in
- Electronic Check-in of passengers
- Perform aircraft interior cleaning throughout the galley and cabin area.
- Ensure aircraft is secured in accordance with company and TSA regulations.
- Verification of documents for international and domestic flights
- Assign passenger seats
- Maintain Liaison with Airlines, customer service representatives and ground handlers.
Essential Job Functions:
- The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, noise and dust. Candidates must have the ability to perform the following:
- Regularly stand, walk use hands to motion, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
- Read, write and fluently speak and understand the English language.
- Drive vehicles in areas congested with aircraft, moving and stationary vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors, judge distance and spatial relationships.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, clients, management and other employees.
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Apply concepts of basic math to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above the head.
- Wear company uniform, and personal protective equipment, as directed by the company.
- Report on time to work in time to begin the scheduled shift.

- This position requires the employees to work ten hour split shifts, within a four day work week.
- Due to frequent interaction with clients, candidates must possess strong interpersonal and verbal skills. Candidates must be courteous and consciences of client needs.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions such as Extreme heat, windy conditions, and rain.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Must successfully complete training programs pertaining to the duties the employee was hired to perform
Requirements and Conditions for Employment:
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (must be able to obtain a State of Arizona Driver’s License within six (6) months of hire.
- Due to the nature of the work environment, applicants must pass a ten-year FBI background check, and drug screening.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and all subsequent random drug tests conducted during employment.
