What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMS Educator- Certified Lab Instructor position at Mohawk Ambulance?
Mohawk is currently looking for full time and part time EMS Educators!
The EMS Educator- Certified Lab Instructor (EE-CLI) serves as an integral part of the training team to administer lab sessions and evaluate students’ skill proficiency.
Not currently a CLI? No problem! Mohawk is hosting a CLI course on the following dates:
- Thursday 04/24: 6p-10p
Tuesday 04/29: 6p-10p
Thursday 05/01: 6p-10p
Saturday 05/03: 9a-2p
Essential Functions
The following is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities for this position. As with all Mohawk staff, the EE-CLI may be asked to do other related work as required in support of the broader mission and objectives of the company. • Acts as an instructor in lab sessions, teaching and modeling necessary hands-on skills to students.
• Observes students in lab sessions to ensure each student is capable of independently completing each skill with proficiency.
• Communicates essential information utilizing multiple methods, in order to meet each student’s individual learning needs.
• Assists with coordinating and tracking student attendance.
• Effectively manages student participation in each lab session.
• Attends training sessions, conferences, and workshops as needed to remain knowledgeable within the Emergency Medical Services field.
Qualifications
Required:
• NYS CLI Certification (can be obtained by attending Mohawk training).
• NYS EMT or Paramedic Certification.
• Prior experience acting as an instructor in the EMS field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in emergency medical and life-saving techniques, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred:
• American Heart Association certified CPR Instructor.
• Proficient with using Google Classroom.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift, carry and balance up to 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
