We’re seeking a strategic and sales-driven Fleet Sales & Operations Manager to transform our internal fleet into a revenue-generating powerhouse by selling directly to shippers and customers. This role will be responsible for building a strong portfolio of direct business and optimizing fleet utilization to ensure performance and profitability.
This is not a traditional dispatch or routing role. We're looking for someone who thinks like a business owner—actively selling available fleet capacity, growing customer relationships, and bypassing third-party intermediaries to drive margin and service excellence.

Fleet Sales & Operations Manager – Direct Customer Focus
We’re seeking a strategic and sales-driven Fleet Sales & Operations Manager to transform our internal fleet into a revenue-generating powerhouse by selling directly to shippers and customers. This role will be responsible for building a strong portfolio of direct business and optimizing fleet utilization to ensure performance and profitability.

What You’ll Do
- Sell internal fleet capacity directly to customers, to protect margins and relationships.
- Develop and execute a direct sales strategy targeting manufacturers, distributors, and high-volume shippers.
- Proactively generate leads, build a sales pipeline, and secure consistent freight for backhauls.
- Create pricing strategies and negotiate contracts focused on profitable, long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with dispatch and planning to align customer demand with fleet availability.
- Track and improve key metrics: revenue per truck, rate per mile, deadhead reduction, and overall utilization.
- Act as the primary liaison for fleet customers—ensuring service excellence and handling escalations swiftly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4–6 years of experience in transportation or logistics, including direct sales of fleet services.
- 2 years of leadership experience managing fleet or transportation operations.
- Proven ability to win direct shipper business and reduce dependency on brokers.
- Direct B2B sales of transportation services—you know how to talk to shippers and close deals.
- Building profitable, long-term customer relationships without relying on intermediaries.
- Understanding transportation market dynamics and negotiating competitive rates.
- Using data to drive decisions—load planning, rate setting, and service analysis.
- Juggling multiple priorities while staying focused on the big picture—revenue, service, and growth.
