What We Need

Work as a part of a team in support of manufacturing operations with a goal of increasing productivity and eliminating downtime and waste. Assumes an active role in overall plant related work and assists all jobs on the plant floor. Follows all company safety procedures and ensures all safety procedures are being followed throughout the plant.

Supports the implementation and documentation of all able engineering services’ operational standards and guidelines as well as site specific standards, policies and procedures relating to the engineering department.

What You’ll Do

• Maintains and cleans mechanical, electrical and shop areas.
• Maintain grinder machine operations safely.
• Coordinates materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Performs simple procedures and tasks and other routine maintenance duties.
• Fosters a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous
• improvement of engineering functions.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager.
• As appropriate, records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes all appropriate daily entries.
• Actively functions as a team member.
• Demonstrates commitment to quality of service.
• Complies with and participates in facility specific safety programs.
• Maintains regular attendance in the workplace.
• Provides highest quality of service to staff and visitors in the facility.
• Participates in regular required communication with manager.
• Performs other duties as required.
  
  

What You Have

• High-school diploma or equivalent
• 1-year experience (preferred)
• Experience that is similar to the specific facility for the position of facility helper.
• Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements as necessary.
• Working knowledge of energy conservation strategies.
  
  

What Else

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group, to achieve results through team efforts, and the desire and ability to motivate, persuade and direct the activities of others
• Fine motor skills for wiring, adjusting controls and use of power tools and small hand tools
• Mechanical aptitude
• Self-motivated
