Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the movement of cargo and parcel flow from various suppliers to our partner warehouse facilities, as they prepare for cross-border transfer to/from Canada.
- Monitor truck movements across the US/Canada border, working with Customs Brokerage or warehouse teams to address any concerns.
- Document and communicate to clients the milestones along the path from parcel/shipment receipt, truck loading and final arrival across border.
- Review data visibility tools to uncover exceptions or outliers within the data itself, that need to be addressed before physical receipt or handling of material.
- Organize communication between Mohawk, clients and warehouse providers to effectively resolve issues and exceptions.
- Receive feedback from warehouse providers as to physical exceptions, and work with them and the clients to press for a resolution.
- Communicate with Customs Brokerage teams to identify and resolve compliance questions for inbound/outbound cargo, to facilitate smoother Customs Clearances.
- Record exceptions as data elements, to review with clients with targets to reduce their errors or issues.
- Utilize measurement tools to review and monitor KPIs, reporting results frequently to stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot gaps in processes and report to appropriate stakeholders for immediate action.
- Assist in developing ideal SOP for 4PL operational work as experience is gained.
Position Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in Freight Forwarding or Customs Brokerage
- Entrepreneurial approach to daily tasks will be important
- Works well without clear SOP instructions
- Flexible working hours may be required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, Logistics, etc.) strongly preferred
- Clearly communicate, verbal and written, with internal and external clients
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and delegate where applicable
- Knowledge of HTS Codes and PGAs a plus
- Able to troubleshoot different issues efficiently and effectively
- Proficient in core Microsoft Office products like Teams, Excel and Word
- Knowledge of other Microsoft platforms like Power BI & Planner is a plus
- Basic understanding of EDI/API between various systems will be helpful
