Description
RATE OF PAY:
$19.41 per hour
JOB FUNCTION:
Provides a direct link between the low-income population and the various services available to assist in easing problems caused by poverty.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide intake, assessment, facilitate enrollment and other assistance to families requesting services.
- Incorporate a Trauma Informed Care approach to program delivery.
- Advocate for the rights of families experiencing poverty and/or individuals.
- Provides information and referral for services.
- Plays key role in agency’s Centralized intake through database system.
- Works in coordination with other MVCAA programs, makes referrals or takes applications for direct services offered by the Agency.
- Conduct outreach and community education programs.
- Attends meetings and participates in trainings, as directed.
- Research rules and regulations relevant to programs and services for families and individuals in poverty.
- Submits written reports and records as required.
- Observes confidentiality according to Head Start Performance Standards and Agency Policy.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs other duties as requested by the Program Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- AAS in Human Services or related field OR
- 3 or more years’ experience in related field preferred.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
- Able to communicate with the public and low-income families and individuals as well as maintain accurate records.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Basic computer literacy in email, word processing, database entry, and internet navigation
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality and privacy.
- Adheres to agency personnel policies and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of community resources in all counties the agency serves.
