Job Summary
Under the direction of a qualified physician the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require minimum independent judgement and initiative in the utilization of Nuclear Medicine for the diagnosis of disease.
Core Job Responsibilities
Prepares stock solutions of radio pharmaceuticals and materials
calculates and administers doses under the direct supervision of radiologist
Calibrates equipment
Performs diagnostic exams on patients as ordered by physician
Uses scanners or scintillation cameras for detection of radiation emitted to produce image of an organ on photographic film.
Measures radioactivity
Instructs and prepares patient for the exam
Perform other duties as required.
Education / Experience Requirements
REQUIRED :
High school diploma or equivalent
Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT or CNMT) or board eligible
PREFERRED :
Graduate of an AMA school of Nuclear Medicine
