Position Summary:
This position is responsible for cleaning all floors, ceiling and walls.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
- Cleans various types of carpets and floors, including stone, marble, granite, tile, VCT and wood using appropriate chemicals and equipment
- Responsible for the storage and handling of department supplies
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment after use
- Removes, transports and arranges office furniture, as needed
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of all carpet care, floor maintenance and heavy duty techniques and equipment
- Knowledge of lifting techniques and related equipment
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
- Good verbal communication skills
- Proper use of chemicals and the ability to determine which chemical and equipment is appropriate for each task
- Understands and practices safe cleaning procedures with emphasis on eliminating cross contamination and safety
Training Requirements:
- Knowledge of procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Completes EVS Training Module which includes proper use of chemicals and safety procedures
- Knowledge of proper infection control and blood borne pathogens procedures and precautions
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in a casino environment with smoke, loud noises and low lighting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend and walk large areas of the casino property for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
