Overview
As a Production Supervisor – Systems Group you will lead a team focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and timely project completion. You will also help improve processes, reduce lead times, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory & Materials: Oversee raw material inventory, restocking, and certification records.
- Fabrication & Welding:
- Create and approve drawings for fabrication and machining operations.
- Estimate fabrication costs for new projects.
- Assign tasks to welders and maintain welding documentation, certifications, and equipment.
- Program burning machines and design fixtures as needed.
- Production Management:
- Track production plans and enforce quality standards.
- Communicate job goals, monitor performance, and provide coaching or corrective actions.
- Prepare work records, performance documentation, and reports.
- Process Improvement & Safety:
- Implement programs that improve labor efficiency, on-time delivery, and continuous quality improvement.
- Drive a safety-focused culture by conducting hazard assessments and supporting training.
- Participate in incident investigations and help develop or update safety rules and procedures.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages growth and upholds core values.
- Conduct effective team meetings and maintain clear communication.
- Open or secure the facility as needed.
Requirements
- Experience:
- At least 5 years in the welding industry (current welding certification preferred).
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Experience in manufacturing processes (machining, plasma cutting, welding, fabrication).
- Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required (CWENG preferred).
- Ability to complete AWS Certified Welding Engineer program.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of performance metrics and process optimization.
