About the position
This position delivers an excellent customer service experience in a dermatological office setting. Under supervision of the Mohs micrographic surgeon, the histotech will map, cut, and stain the surgical specimens according to the outlined Mohs technique. Obtain histology slides from outside the lab as necessary and maintain records of all tissue and slides which come into our laboratory. Maintain operation of the lab consistent with OSHA and CLIA guidelines. We have own cutting technique. So this position is eligible for someone who willing be trained to fit in our company high quality standards if need to. You need to be able to handle pressure while keeping the quality of work and professionalizm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Map tissue specimens according to Mohs technique and prepare microscopic slides.
· Maintain quality control on all slides processed and monitor ongoing QC study.
· Create and maintain accurate files and logs needed for records, entering, updating, and/or recording information accurately and in a timely manner.
· Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment on a regular basis; order supplies for laboratory; maintain log of supplies.
· Maintain and operate laboratory and surgical equipment including cryostat.
· Maintain documentation as required by CLIA guidelines.
· Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
· Functions as a team member by assisting, supporting, and encouraging other employees in any way possible.
Industry leading tech will train you while you are onsite of the work and in our main office as well.
Qualifications
Performance Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience using Microtome, Embedding Center, Tissue Processor, and H/E Stainer will be plus
- Must be reliable
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently

- Problem solving/troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow instructions/procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with dr and co-workers.
- Ability to perform work activities in a team environment with open communication.

- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment while under substantial time pressures and still maintain quality patient care.
- Valid Driver's License

Medical specialties:

Education:
- Bachelor's or Asociate's of Science degree preferred
- Must have 24 combined credit hours of biology and chemistry class.
Experience:
- Medical feild (labratory preferred) experience 1-3 years (Preferred)
- Must have least 2 years of Mohs Histology Technician experience.
