What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mohs Technician - No Experience Required position at Mohs-Tek, Inc.?
The Mohs Technician is essential in providing a variety of support functions that are crucial in the Mohs Surgery procedure, The Tech will process, embed, cut and stain tissue specimens so a quality microscopic slide can be produced for diagnosis by the Mohs surgeon.
Essential Functions:
- Properly receives, logs and processes specimens and properly fills CLIA based requirements to produce a high-quality Mohs Slide for diagnosis.
Mohs Log book:
- Follow appropriate procedures for staining, tissue processing, and embedding. Maintains CLIA based Mohs Log book.
- Efficiently organize and file all slides/blocks, containers and log reports and dispose them as necessary per CLIA regulations. This is done in a manner in which slides/blocks can be easily located.
- Ability to function independently and to interact well with doctor, patients and other team members
- Operates clinical lab equipment according to guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned based on workload with the company.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Medical office, procedure/exam room, and laboratory environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards, or toxic substances. Daily activities include driving, standing, lifting a briefcase up to 30 lbs. and pushing/pulling large machines/cryostats when moving locations.
