Small Immigration and Family law firm seeking Litigation Paralegal.
Must be self-motivated, professional, be able to communicate well, well organized, EXTREMELY detailed-oriented, strong multi-tasking skills, and eager about growing the practice.
Paralegal responsibilities
The paralegal must be able to adapt to daily change, be responsive, self-motivated and have attention to detail. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organization in a fast-paced environment is an absolute necessity. The right paralegal or legal assistant should be able to organize, prioritize and work well under pressure.
DUTIES:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, contracts, and agreements in family law cases;
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing calendars
- Communicating with clients to keep them apprised of case status and developments;
- Organize and maintain client files and documents
- Assisting with phones and Intakes;
- Copying, scanning and mailing;
- Reviewing case files and working with attorneys on issues;
- Manage deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks;
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness statements;
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings;
- Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow;
- Assist with accounting and billing;
- Prepare and file legal documents with the court system
Must be skilled in Word/Excel/Outlook; experience with legal practice management software helpful. Much room for growth as firm continues to expand. Family Law experience preferred but not required.
Starting at $20-22 per hour (based on experience), 35-40 hours per week
