JOB GOAL: The goal of the Middle School Career Center Coordinator is to provide students with the exposure and access to a wide variety of career paths and post high school educational opportunities so they may begin the explorative journey toward their post high school aspirations.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must:
- Be 21 years or older.

- operate standard office equipment including computers, copiers and audio-visual equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.
- Collaborate with staff to identify students’ post-secondary interests and then plan and coordinate activities and opportunities based on those interests.
- Work closely with school counselors to provide students with opportunities to explore post-secondary education and career paths including college, trade school, vocational training, and career opportunities including the armed forces.
- Collaborate with partner organizations and businesses to provide a range of opportunities for students in college and career exploration and readiness including arranging guest speakers and coordinating field trips.
- Organize and provide post-secondary educational materials and communication including college and trade school information and searches and scholarship opportunities.
- Oversee the implementation of a career guidance system that allows students to begin mapping their future.
- Facilitate collaboration between classroom teachers and business partners to link classrooms and careers.
- Perform such other tasks (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as deemed appropriate by the Board or Administration.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, BONDING, AND/OR TESTING REQUIRED:
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent as required by OAR 581-37-030, Oregon Department of Education.
- Possess and maintain a valid First Aid card if required
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
