Fiber Optic Drop Burry Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Drop bury Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems, field service, and telecommunications.

Repair of underground fiber-optic cables for residential and commercial customers. This role involves burying cables safely and efficiently while following industry standards, local regulations, and safety guidelines.

This role involves working with fiber optics, performing installations and drops, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.

The Fiber Technician will utilize their mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to ensure optimal performance of telecommunication systems.

Duties

• Install, bury, and secure fiber-optic cables underground using trenching, boring, or hand-digging techniques.
• Read and interpret work orders, maps, and blueprints to determine the best cable routes.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as trenchers and drills to complete installations.
• Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair damaged or faulty buried cables when required.
• Communicate with customers and property owners to explain work processes and obtain necessary permissions.
• Restore work areas by properly backfilling trenches and ensuring minimal impact on landscapes.
• Maintain accurate records of completed jobs, materials used, and any issues encountered.
• Follow safety protocols, including proper handling of tools, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to OSHA regulations.
• Collaborate with other technicians, supervisors, and utility companies to coordinate work and avoid conflicts with existing infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in drop bury, underground cable installation, or a related field (preferred).
• Valid Social Security Card and Driver License with a clean records.
• Own Truck or Minivan/ Pick Up.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
