Moldcable Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fiber Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber optic networks to ensure reliable and high-quality service for customers. The ideal candidate has experience working with fiber optic cabling, splicing, testing, and network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on fiber networks to resolve connectivity issues.
- Conduct fiber optic testing using OTDR, power meters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to complete projects efficiently.
- Document installations, maintenance, and repairs accurately.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of fiber testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in various environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications (e.g., FOA, BICSI, CFOT) are a plus.
- Experience with underground and aerial fiber installation.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and equipment.
