Description
Molex is seeking a Category Manager to join our team in Lisle, IL. The Indirect Logistics Category Manager is responsible for all activities needed to implement the strategic purchasing objectives while working closely with business partners globally to align with the business requirements. A key function of this role will be to assure compliance with customer related and regulatory requirements regarding the Molex supply base.
The successful candidate will have clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, high energy, be self-motivated with strong strategic leadership, have strong interpersonal skills, be highly skilled in internal stakeholder collaboration and supplier relationship management. We also need someone with a high sense of urgency, the ability to incorporate the needs of internal customers in professional procurement requirements, business acumen with a base understanding of P&Ls, Cash Flow and Balance Sheets including value-adds, continuous improvement and the time value of money. We will evaluate individuals on their solid business and procurement analytical skills, strong problem-solving skills, as well as organizational and project management skills with the ability to work with multiple functions in locations throughout the world.
This role will work a hybrid schedule.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Develop and execute global category strategies by working closely with business partners and regional LOGISTICS Category Leaders on focused structure programs and projects for the business to achieve the best economical outcome
- Collaborate with Koch Group companies to locate and develop synergies and hard savings across LOGISTICS
- Function as the single point of contact for identifying synergy opportunities with new acquisitions
- Advise the business about similar strategies employed by other “best in class” companies and other Koch entities
- Lead multidisciplinary teams regarding projects to maximize the Total cost of Ownership benefits
- Provide leadership and guidance in the following areas: stimulate creativity / innovation in others, foster innovative ideas, support those who initiate change and take risks, promote a global perspective
- Generate a collaborative environment and strong relationships among senior plant leadership and key stakeholders across various functions
- Drive Total Cost of Ownership benefits through analytics, clearly defined category taxonomy, and managed baseline
- Create and maintain supplier relationships toward business increase and mutual benefits
- Monitor market dynamics for category across regions
- Manage category projects across businesses and company-wide when and where applicable and lead projects based on category expertise
- Understand, support, and comply with current Molex policies and practices related business programs. Including but not limited to government regulations, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S), Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management (TQM), and Management Systems
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in Procurement focused on LOGISTICS indirect materials spend
- Experience in negotiation including the: use of value levers, fact-based negotiation, contract negotiation, and management
- Experience in analysis, reporting, and financial modelling
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Supply Chain Management
- Experience in category planning and category strategy development
- Procurement experience across multiple industries and categories
- Experience in non-procurement functions
- Cross-functional project management experience or PM certified
- Previous International work assignments/experience
- Experience with SAP, Coupa, and Ariba
