Essential Functions : Responsible for supervising the accounting procedures of the company. Manage and supervise the Accounting Department team members to ensure optimal quality and accuracy of work. Develop and monitor accounting procedures to develop more efficient practices at a reduced cost, at both at the corporate office and the store level. Engage in critical and confidential aspects of accounting. Responsible for the development of policies, systems, special financial studies, etc. of major importance. Advise management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization. Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization. Works with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal effect or minor external effect. Safeguard the financial assets of the company. Oversee the store bookkeeping procedures and practices Furnish timely financial reports and covenants to all related parties – CEO, Controller and lending institutions. Monitor and update projections (the strategic plan) on a company-wide basis for better financial performance. Compile and monitor annual financial goals for upper management and managers. Provide timely and accurate financial departmental reports and assistance on accounting issues for upper management and managers to assist them in achieving their financial goals and the company’s strategic plan. Maintain communication and a harmonious relationship with the bank and lending institutions. Manage banking functions (disbursements through EFT and transfers of fund) and daily cash flow. Streamline cash management procedures and make recommendation for more optimum debt structure based on cash flow. Maintain current knowledge of government and tax regulations, accounting policies and industry by attending seminars, workshops and reading trade periodicals. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. 5-7 years of accounting experience. Management experience. MS Excel : Intermediate to Advanced Preferred Qualifications : CPA designation. Master’s degree in accounting or finance. Presentation skills. Software : Silver Creek, FMS. Supervisory Responsibility The accounting manager manages all employees of the accounting department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
