SHIFT LEADER

This role is hourly, 25 hours a week starting at $28.00 an hour.

molly moon’s seeking a joyful, optimistic, and talented shift leader to join our Seattle mooncrew. Shift leaders are a leadership presence in the shop, especially when a shop’s manager or assistant manager are not present. They are keyholders responsible for leading and managing all aspect of a shift. They model and reinforce molly moon’s best practices around communication, multi-tasking, generous customer service, food safety, and product consistency for themselves and their scooping team. This role is a fantastic non-seasonal job with
hours in the summer and winter.

Qualities of Shift Leaders:

  • Exhibits a passion for community, an eye for detail, a willingness to clean (a lot), stamina (to serve people in long lines), and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to effectively run a shift and positively influence and lead a team of ice cream scoopers, helping them uphold the highest standards and feel supported
  • Communicate effectively with all employees, including sharing company goals, providing feedback, direction, training, and celebrating team and company wins
  • Resourceful and calm when challenges come up – able to problem solve independently
  • Have great judgment, common sense, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a positive, optimistic vibe and sustain and upbeat, high energy environment
  • A desire to share what’s unique and wonderful about Molly Moon’s: our ingredients, our partnerships, our people, and our role in the community
  • Provide consistent, joyful service to every single customer (with the same care and enthusiasm to the 500th customer as the 1st)
  • Committed to the well-being of their shop team, their community, and the environment around them

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in retail or client/customer service environment, in a supervisory or management capacity with teams larger than 3
  • Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week including weekends and late nights (until midnight).
  • The ability to work at least two closing weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday) is a must.
  • Reliable, on time, and ready to hustle for every shift
  • Be over 18 in order to work late nights.
  • Able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis and be comfortable doing repetitive physical tasks

COMPENSATION

  • $28.00/hour starting wage
  • Two pay increases per year: an annual merit-based raise and a cost of living increases
  • Free medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees who work an average of 20 hrs/wk.
  • Molly Moon’s pays 100% of premium for qualifying employees and their children.
  • Paid vacation available after 500 hours
  • Supplemental paid family leave benefits for employees who qualify for and receive PFML.
  • 401k with employer match of 1% in the first year of participation, 2% year 2, and 3% year three.
  • Employees are eligible after 12 consecutive months of employment.
  • Subsidized ORCA transit pass or GoodtoGo stipend
  • Childcare subsidies toward the cost of childcare, day care, babysitting & after school programs:
    • up to $1,000 per month / per child for each child under the age of 5 (or pre-kindergarten)
    • up to $4,200 per year / per child for each child between the ages of 5-12
