The Assistant Principal position at Molly Stark Elementary will focus on a Multi-Tiered System of Supports for all students and cultivate a positive School Culture. This school-wide leader is responsible for contributing to and communicating a vision and delivery of programs and services to support all students’ academic achievement, behavior and social/emotional development . The Assistant Principal will support staff in improving their instructional practices relative to social-emotional learning while fostering a culture of high expectations for all. The Assistant Principal is responsible for building strong relationships with families and the greater school community while working cooperatively with all stakeholders to ensure a safe, supportive school climate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implement and monitor school-wide behavioral expectations and policies; address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities and conforming to legal requirements and regulations.
• Serve as a Social Emotional leader by supporting staff and monitoring MTSS/Ci3t and PBIS Universal curriculum, strategies and resources.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and teachers regarding discipline matters.
• Make recommendations for appropriate revisions of policies and rules affecting student behavior.
• Research, develop, and implement interventions to improve student behavior.
• Assist staff with behavior management plans for students.
• Confer with students when necessary, makes appropriate referrals for discipline, restorative practices, and/or guidance consultation.
• Serve as a resource for building staff, administrators, and parents in working with students, creating a positive school climate, and helping students develop a positive self-concept.
• Keep the principal informed of student issues and issues of school culture or climate
• Cultivate partnerships with parents and the community.
• Implement MTSS/Ci3t strategies by collecting and analyzing student Social and Emotional data, facilitating discussions among teachers and staff, and working with the Principal and District Coaches to plan professional development.
• Facilitate Social and Emotional Tier 2 Support Team including monitoring interventions.
• Monitor daily student attendance following District guidelines and plan for interventions.
• Collaborate to support the development of master schedules.
• Supervise employees including serving as an instructional leader assigning and directing work, interviewing, evaluating performance, discipline, and resolving issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned and consistent with position duties.
