The Headlines:
- Candidates need to have high speed packaging and/or manufacturing equipment experience.
- Must have the necessary skills, aptitude, and education to perform mechanical duties such as set-up, adjustment, troubleshooting, P.M. inspections, and overhauls of their assigned equipment.
- Candidates will need the capability to develop into an equipment subject matter expert on an assigned category of packaging equipment understanding the complete equipment strategy and leading all operations around the maintenance, troubleshooting and reliability of this equipment.
- Assures the customer satisfaction through identifying, as an individual and as a member of a work unit, the internal and external customer; jointly determine customer needs and means of measurement to deliver mutually agreed upon products/services. Continually investigate methods to improve customer satisfaction to achieve the ultimate goal of quality relationships.
- Must be capable of working in a team-oriented environment.
The Responsibilities:
- Able to lead equipment overhauls from planning through execution and all related follow up work
- Provide equipment history. Documents all work performed in a timely, accurate, and detailed manner using the current maintenance computer system and other reporting structures. Uses this information to make decisions to improve the reliability of the equipment and the process. Works with planners to identify, define and prioritize work needed to improve equipment reliability. Interfaces with the planners to develop equipment history.
- Provide technical support to the, plant engineering and contractors for expense and capital projects
- Develop and execute equipment specific training or general maintenance training as required for both the operations and maintenance craft
- Contributor with planning for all equipment specific SAP maser data, PM task lists and bill of materials
- Able to lead or participate in RCM analysis or application of other methodologies to develop equipment maintenance strategies
- Evaluate the effectiveness of preventative maintenance routines. Make revisions and improvements to maintenance routines to increase effectiveness
- Identify system or equipment deficiencies and initiates the modification process, utilizing peers, team members, engineering, purchasing, vendors, technical support groups, and other resources. Update prints, programs, equipment manuals and other documentation. Ensure successful changes are implemented on like equipment. Communicate changes made to those affected
- Demonstrates proficiency in root cause failure analysis and problem solving techniques to ensure effective repairs on equipment are completed
- Understand the principles of product quality control, and is proactive in verifying that repair work and modifications support the achievement of the company’s quality goals and objectives
- Contributes to a safe work place by performing all tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, OSHA, EPA, FDA, and GMP guidelines, such as lock-out/tag-out/Try-out, safety rules, confined space entry, regulations, codes (Building, fire, etc.) and engineering standards
- Provide skills training and work instruction certification in primary craft to trainees, peers and operations personnel
- Perform proactive equipment analysis to identify waste, reliability quality and efficiency improvements. Works to restore equipment to inherent reliability. Achieve improved Machine efficiencies & quality improvements
- Support operations. Assist in the development of SOP, QFRs and inspections routes
- Other duties as assigned
The Other Qualifications:
- Must be minimum 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Related work experience: Industrial journey level and on-the-job experience in a heavy industrial mechanics field. Two year associate degree in mechanical related studies preferred
- Ability to work in areas of varying degrees of noise, dust, humid, cold and hot temperatures
- The position also involves frequent stooping or crawling in cramped quarters, hard hat or bump cap, safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection
- Routine lifting of 50 pounds is normal practice
- Ability to work any shift or schedule is required
