The Headlines:
In the role of Materials Specialist working in Elkton, VA, you will be part of the Quality Team. You will lead and manage all responsibilities associated with packaging material supplier quality performance. This will include qualification testing and validation of new or modified materials. You will drive the performance of materials utilized in all quality processes and quality programs.
This position reports to Manager Quality Assurance and works closely with the quality department and warehouse employees.
The Responsibilities:
• Ensure suppliers adhere to material standards and communicate supplier quality trends to brewery teams
• Audit suppliers to ensure compliance to Molson Coors quality standards
• Review supplier incidents and address cause with supplier using root cause analysis and corrective action
• Coordinates and manages supplier partnerships
• Provides technical input into supplier decisions around new vendors/suppliers
• Support quality/continuous improvement and problem solving
• Coordinate material/equipment qualification testing and trials
• Facilitate technical packaging lab
The Other Qualifications:
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree in a science or related field of study. Preferred degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cereal Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Agronomy, or Chemical Engineering)
• Possess a proven track record of achievement in a high speed, high volume quality environment with at least two (2) years’ experience
• Demonstrated use of advanced problem solving tools (Six Sigma Certification is preferred)
• You have advanced knowledge of packaging materials and continuous improvement concepts
• You have awareness of OSHA regulations, GMP, State Agricultural policies, TTB regulations, plant safety regulations, FDA guidelines for food plant operations and environmental regulations regarding brewery operations
