Key Responsibilities
- Machine maintenance and repair are top priorities, with additional duties in a range of other maintenance activities
- Install, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and ensure proper machine performance
- Work with natural gas fired equipment, 480V, 3PH electrical, and ammonia systems and boiler
- Diagnose downtime or quality issues root cause and make repairs to resolve the issue
- Coordinate scheduled changeovers and repairs with production staff
- Recommend improvements to enhance equipment operating performance
- Create and supply parts lists for repairs & backup, suggesting purchase items
- Maintain documents related to maintenance, tests, modifications, and repairs
- Train Machine Operators and others on proper equipment setup and adjustment
- Perform facilities maintenance including general construction (light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry)
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years relevant machine maintenance experience
- Experience working with gas fired equipment
- Electrical knowledge including 480V, 3 PH
- Familiarity with refrigeration, ammonia systems, heating, boilers, pneumatics, and/or PLCs is highly desired
- Preventive maintenance skills
- Senior level Maintenance Techs need experience using a CMMS to coordinate and track preventive maintenance and asset management
- Demonstrated commitment to following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety guidelines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work proactively and independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical training or degree in maintenance field
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Able to perform repetitive movements
- Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
