Position Summary As an EHS Director, you'll contribute to the success of Moms Meals by ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, and Department of Transportation), incident prevention, and after injury management. This position reports to the Vice President of Technical Services and will develop, implement, and continuously improve programs within the EHS Management System framework - all while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and conformance to internal standards. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in employee and motor vehicle safety and highly skilled at implementing processes that will lead to sustained Environmental, Health, and Safety performance improvements. This role requires the ability to build strategic awareness and vision to the company safety culture throughout all sites. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
- Lead environmental health and safety for the entire company
- Achieve annual metrics for Recordable Incident Rate, Lost Time Incident Rate, and Incident Severity Rate
- Facilitate the completion of a company-wide annual EHS training plan
- Oversee the internal safety audit program throughout all sites
- Analyze incident trends and use risk-assessment methods to identify continuous improvement projects that reduce injury, illness and environmental impact events
- Facilitate incident investigations from a root cause analysis approach, ensuring that preventative actions address system causes and not just individual behaviors
- Drive and ensure the EHS Management System elements are applied effectively by your team throughout Operations & Engineering; develop new procedures, inspections, trainings, or reports as needed
- Review equipment and space designs on everything from machine guards to chemical processes, and provide feedback on EHS impacts; Industrial Hygiene, Fire Safety, Chemical Safety, Process Safety, Hazardous Materials, NFPA Standards, ANSI / ASTM Standards, etc.
- Coach, mentor and support other EHS team members
- Compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and conformance to internal standard
- Facilitate company emergency awareness and action plans
- Strong liaison with government agencies such as OSHA and EPA
- Lead communications with Senior Management regarding safety and health issues and concerns
- Oversee budget management of the EH&S program
