What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. High Head Track & Field Coach position at Momence Junior High School?
Position: This position is for a head track coach for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Jr. High students, both boys and girls.
Expectations: The head track and field coach will help athletes improve their skills at various sports related to track and field events. These include distance running, hurdles, discus throw, long jump, and races of various distances. As an assistant coach, your responsibilities include making sure athletes are training and practicing safely, preventing injuries and treating them when applicable. You may also help the coach develop team strategies for an upcoming track meet. In addition the head coach will be in charge of all equipment, uniforms, and be responsible for helping to run home track meets, as well as managing the budget that the given to the track team.
Goal: Our number one goal for our coaches is to encourage athletes, build character, and to represent our school in a passionate way. Winning is great, but we are focused on developing champions not only on the field/track but off as well.
The position will be paid on Level E of the extra duty scale in the MEA teacher contract and the salary will range between $1466 - $1884 based on experience.
