Director of Housekeeping is responsible for the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including staffing, supply ordering and supervision. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises housekeeping staff and assists with all aspects of cleaning and maintaining the facility interior and grounds; ensures residents; rooms are safe, comfortable, and maintained in an attractive manner and that residents’ personal items are safeguarded
- Trains, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines housekeeping personnel
- Assists in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection and termination of housekeeping personnel
- Scheduling of housekeeping staff
- Prepares requisitions for all necessary supplies and equipment
- Maintains pertinent records, manages budgets and supplies, and functions as a working supervisor in all areas of responsibility as the department’s budgeted hours and workload
Education
- High School graduate preferred, or experience in a related field
