Job Description:
This 3rd Shift Rubber Operator position is responsible for safely and efficiently performing custom compound extrusion using multiple mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with extruders and related equipment, as well as strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- The 3rd Shift Rubber Operator will work closely with our team to ensure that all safety equipment is readily available and that all guards are in place.
- The 3rd Shift Rubber Operator will read and understand batch cards for directions, including proper amounts, temperature controls, weights, and sequences of extrusion.
- The 3rd Shift Rubber Operator will update and maintain production records on batches extruded.
- The 3rd Shift Rubber Operator will maintain the work area in a clean and orderly manner, especially during shift transition.
- The 3rd Shift Rubber Operator will learn and understand basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in extrusion, packaging, and finishing.
- The 3rd Shift Rubber Operator will receive and relay vital communications with co-workers concerning daily production strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to read and understand written instructions.
- Must be able to stand for an 8.5-hour shift.
- Must be able to carry or lift 25 pounds to shoulder height repetitively and push work-in-process, which could exceed 25 pounds.
- Effective and safe operation of all extrusion equipment requires the use of both hands.
- Must be able to read, understand, and speak English.
- Perform arithmetic operations quickly, accurately, and possess eye-hand motor coordination.
- Basic writing skills are required in the completion of daily production records.
- Basic verbal communication skills are required to transfer or interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
