The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).
The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. Logistics Daily Shipping Specialist
Summary
Execution of daily shipping paperwork to support warehouse team including but not limited to CofA, Shipping declaration, labels, BOL, SDS.
Responsibilities Include
- Responsible for verifying daily orders and ensuring execution for shipments
- Responsible for providing daily shipping scheduling to warehouse and leadership
- Responsible for same day LTL, FTL, Ocean shipment coordination and validation
- Responsible for delivery creation
- Responsible to schedule/track ETA for carriers
- Responsible for carrier interaction and confirmation
- Responsible for coordination and execution of shipment bookings, coordinating with planning, 3PL, carriers and service providers to ensure shipments are executed to meet customer demand
- Reaching out to carriers to obtain ETA and following up
- Updating the container spreadsheet once container has shipped
- Responsible for the execution of transfer of materials between MPM sites(STO’s)
- Responsible for execution and following proper processes for expedites including air and truck shipments
- Responsible for coordinating with drivers on site for pick ups/covering the window with drivers
- Responsible for following documented supply chain processes
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement; idea generation to implementation
- Responsible for maintaining a positive working environment including but not limited to openness and implementation of process improvement, change, and RCCA’s
- Responsible to communicate any challenges, issues, delays and work to solve them by involving the right people and being solution oriented
- Responsible for coordinating with drivers for pickups, paperwork, proper labeling for material and transportation regulations
- Responsible for processes that optimize the logistics fleet including storage, detention, demurrage, leased costs
- Responsible for managing Import/Export of Ocean shipments including compliance, documentation and cost
- Responsible for execution of RCCA for any customer service complaints regarding paperwork, labels, execution of shipments
- Responsible for timely and accurate transactions in SAP relating to shipments( GR, PGID, Shipping confirmation, etc)
- Responsible for import/export documentation and coordination with 3PL and service providers
- Responsible for documentation and proper labeling for IATA, DOT, OSHA, and ISO
- Responsible for paperwork filing and organization, both digital and paper work
- Responsible for daily execution of shipping
- Responsible for logistics tracking via systems and tools(Tableau, Trailer Tracker, SAP)
- Responsible for shipping hazardous chemicals accurately and safely, ensuring all documentation and labeling is accurate
- Drive improvements in service & cost for SVLL logistics
The following are required for the role
- 3-5 years Logistics and/or Supply Chain experience.
- Proven track record of delivering results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others, demonstrating great and positive teamwork
- Change Management Skills- need to be able to create ideas, drive execution and/or support changes
- Problem solving and solution driven
- Working experience in utilizing SAP ERP platform
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
